BEDFORD – Thomas J. Nolen, 34, of Washington, Indiana, has been ordered to serve 768 days in the Indiana Department of Corrections. This decision by Lawrence Superior Court I Judge John M. Plummer III came on Wednesday, July 16, after Nolen repeatedly violated the terms of his probation.

Nolen had initially received a suspended sentence of 910 days (approximately 2.5 years) in prison after pleading guilty to Domestic Battery (a Level 6 felony). He was placed on supervised probation for 545 days (about 1.5 years).

However, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Sarah Cummings stated that Nolen “committed new crimes while out on probation and did not report to probation as ordered.” Due to these violations, his suspended sentence was revoked, leading to his current prison term.
