Recall issued for Michelin CrossClimate 2 Tires due to missing DOT symbol

INDIANA – Centropneus SRL (Centropneus) has initiated a recall for certain Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires, size 255/60R18 112V XL. The recall is due to the absence of the DOT certification symbol on the tire sidewalls.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Recall ID Number 25T012, this omission means the tires fail to comply with the requirements of

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, “New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles”. The NHTSA states that tires missing a DOT symbol could be used in inappropriate applications, which may increase the risk of a crash.

To address this safety concern, dealers will replace the affected tires at no charge. Owner notification letters are anticipated to be mailed out on August 15, 2025.

Owners of these tires can contact Centropneus’ customer service directly at 1-800-933-2537 for more information.
