Orleans urges resident cooperation in mosquito control efforts

ORLEANS – The Town of Orleans is reminding residents to actively participate in mosquito control efforts to enhance general public health and safety. The town annually contracts Ron Taylor to provide mosquito spraying services, and their effectiveness is significantly boosted by community involvement.

Residents are urged to:

  • Keep all yards and lots mowed.
  • Remove any brush-type items from their properties.
  • Eliminate any sources of standing water.
  • Properly discard old tires, which can collect water.
  • Regularly check and clean rain gutters and downspouts to ensure water flows freely.

These measures are crucial in reducing mosquito breeding grounds and are vital to the ongoing health and safety initiatives within the Town of Orleans.
