Wanda Kay Hostetter, 80, of Bedford, passed away at 2:36 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at IU Health Hospice House.
Born November 20, 1944, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Harold and Madeline (George) Allen. She married Gary Murle Hostetter on April 18, 1964, and he preceded her in death. She was a licensed practical nurse and a licensed cosmetologist, last working at White River Lodge. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Wanda and Gary enjoyed traveling the country, playing golf, and attending their Airstream rallies. Wanda especially loved being on a beach. In 1993, they built their dream home together.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Murle Hostetter and wife, Steph; a daughter-in-law, Shelly Hostetter; a grandson, Garrett David Hostetter; a granddaughter, Seirra Dawn Nicholas and her husband, J.B.; a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Lucy Clensy; and a special friend, Ron Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary Hostetter; one precious daughter, Kimberly Dawn Hostetter; a sister, Connie Parkes; brothers, Larry, William (Bill), Harold, Jr., Robert, John, and Darrell; and a special friend, Dawn Bartlett (Seirra’s mother).
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the church.
