Danone U.S. fecalls YoCrunch products due to potential plastic in toppers

INDIANA – Danone U.S. has announced a voluntary nationwide recall of all YoCrunch products sold in retail stores. The recall is prompted by the potential presence of plastic pieces in the dome topper of these yogurt products.

According to a release on the FDA website, consumption of these plastic pieces could potentially lead to choking. It’s important to note that the issue is isolated strictly to the separately packaged topper and does not affect the yogurt itself.

The recall encompasses all flavors and sizes of YoCrunch products currently available in the market. “Consumer complaints have reported the presence of plastic pieces in the toppers, which have the potential to cause choking,” the release states. “The plastic pieces are transparent, may have sharp edges, and could present a risk to consumers because some pieces are between 7 and 25 mm in length.”

Consumers who have purchased the affected YoCrunch® products should not consume them. For information on refunds, please contact the YoCrunch® Consumer Care Line at 1-877-344-4886. Consumer Care specialists are available to speak live Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
