JACKSON COUNTY- Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc., is scheduled to close U.S. 31 over Lewis Branch on or after Monday, June 23, to complete a bridge replacement project in Jackson County.
The closure will take place on U.S. 31 just north of Uniontown between East County Road 50 South and East County Road 150 South. Weather permitting, U.S. 31 is expected to reopen in mid-November. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour, which follows S.R. 250 to I-65 to U.S. 50 back to U.S. 31.
This work is part of a $2.4 million contract awarded to E&B in December 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
