BEDFORD – The City of Bedford’s Planning & Zoning issued a variety of permits throughout May 2025, according to a report generated on June 4, 2025.
The permits covered a range of construction and modification projects, including new residential and commercial buildings, remodeling, and signs.
During the month, all permits were issued within the expected process time.
Key permits issued include:
- Certificates of Occupancy: Two certificates of occupancy were issued, including one for Meyer Food Management Co. at 3150 John Williams Blvd on May 19, 2025, and another for Evergreen Drive LLC at 2903 Evergreen Dr. on May 20, 2025.
- Commercial Permits: One commercial remodel permit was issued for Teresa Luttrell at 431 Lincoln Ave on May 23, 2025.
- New Public Building: A permit for new commercial construction was issued to 86th Bedford, LLC and PP Bedford, LLC at 2705 16th St, with a cost of $2,118,000.00, dated May 13, 2025.
- New Residential Construction: Two permits were issued, including one for a duplex construction (4 units) by Derek Stutz at 2017 29th St, valued at $1,200,000.00, issued on May 1, 2025. Another permit for new residential duplexes was issued to David Miller/Hoosier Uplands at 3301 Shawnee Drive S, with a cost of $7,328,000.00, issued on May 12, 2025.
- Residential Remodels: A total of nine residential remodel permits were issued. These included projects for John Harvey at 2620 G St ($16,839.00) on May 9, 2025; William Mulvhill at 1912 11th St ($13,111.00) on May 15, 2025; Gwendolyn Norman at 111 O St ($30,000.00) on May 21, 2025; Gary Sanders at 1823 5th St ($80,000.00) on May 9, 2025; Travis Kern at 49 Newton St ($21,000.00) on May 22, 2025; Victor Taylor at 1907 Park Ave ($6,738.64) on May 23, 2025; Ulises Morales at 1711 Central Ave ($10,122.42) on May 28, 2025; and Jason Delaney at 1402 2nd St ($10,000.00) on May 28, 2025.
- Signs: Five sign permits were issued. Noteworthy permits include one for Peyton Sweet at 2700 John Williams Blvd ($1,000.00) on May 1, 2025; Lawrence County Auditor at 2405 Mitchell Rd ($20,000.00) on May 5, 2025; Brent Goodman at 1606 4th St ($700.00) on May 16, 2025; Troy Lawyer at 520 16th St ($15,000.00) on May 27, 2025; and Bender Lumber at 3120 Brock Lane ($12,000.00) on May 30, 2025.
