SULLIVAN CO.– Jury deliberations have officially begun in the murder trial of William Grimes, who stands accused of the December 2012 killing of 85-year-old Lowell Badger.

William Grimes, along with his brother Arthur Grimes and Richard Taft, were all charged in connection with the shooting death of Badger.
The trial in Sullivan County concluded its witness testimony phase yesterday, with closing arguments presented this morning. The defense team has challenged the credibility of witnesses and underscored the absence of physical evidence connecting Grimes directly to the crime scene.
A key piece of testimony is that of Richard Taft. He claimed to be both an eyewitness and a participant in the crime, and his account reportedly aligned with the known facts of the case.

Lowell R. Badger, a retired farmer, was killed sometime between Friday, December 7th, and the morning of December 8th, 2012, authorities said. Badger was a retired Sullivan County farmer who was found deceased in his rural home on December 8, 2012.
A probable cause affidavit states that the Grimes brothers and Taft robbed and killed Badger, taking his safe, his television, and the money in his pockets.
