BEDFORD– The Bedford Police Department is seeking Kylee Wilson, 38, of Bloomington, in connection with alleged fraud at the Rural King store at 1320 James Avenue in Bedford in November 2024.
According to a Probable Cause Affidavit filed by Bedford Police Officer Justin Dodd on February 12, 2025, Rural King management requested a report be filed against Wilson for allegedly writing bad checks totaling $1,218.80 on three separate dates: November 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2024.
The acting Store Manager provided police with documentation, including dates and values of the allegedly fraudulent checks, as well as black and white surveillance images of a woman identified as Kylee Wilson, her truck (described as a 2010s Chevy Silverado), and a list of other Rural King locations where similar incidents had reportedly occurred. Bedford Police used booking photos and a driver’s license photo to confirm the identity of Kylee Wilson in the surveillance images.
Detective Dodd took over the case on January 31, 2025, and attempted to contact Wilson but was unsuccessful in obtaining a working phone number for her. Investigators also learned of a similar case being investigated by Martinsville Police involving Wilson.
On February 6, 2025, Detectives attempted to contact Wilson at her listed Bloomington address but received no response. A subsequent attempt to locate her at a Paoli address on February 12th also proved unsuccessful, with the residence appearing to be unoccupied. Inquiries with the Orleans and Paoli Police Departments yielded no information regarding Wilson’s current whereabouts.
Due to the inability to locate and contact Wilson, the Bedford Police Department forwarded the information to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and requested an arrest warrant for her on a fraud charge. She was detained on Thursday, May 15.
