INDIANA – Indiana homeowners are set to receive significant property tax relief thanks to Senate Enrolled Act 1 (SEA 1), a piece of legislation supported by House Republicans during the 2025 legislative session. The new law is slated to provide more than $1.3 billion in property tax relief across the state.
Beyond direct tax relief, SEA 1 also aims to address the underlying factors contributing to property tax burdens. The legislation includes provisions designed to curb local government debt and establish a cap on the income taxes local governments can collect.
