HENRYVILLE – The Indiana State Police (ISP) Cold Case Unit has arrested a Borden man in connection with the 2022 murder of Brittney Boman following a shooting incident in Henryville. Derek James Pixley, 33, of Borden, Indiana, was taken into custody Monday evening.

The investigation stems from a 911 call received by the Clark County Communications Center on October 2, 2022, reporting that a female was shot on Brownstown Road in Henryville. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and found Brittney Boman, who was transported to the University of Louisville Emergency Room for treatment. Tragically, Boman succumbed to her injuries and died in the hospital on December 30, 2022.

In December 2024, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department transferred the ongoing investigation to the Indiana State Police Cold Case Unit. Detective Matt Busick initiated a new and comprehensive investigation, conducting numerous interviews related to the shooting. In April 2025, Detective Busick met with Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull to review the findings. On May 7, 2025, the completed case was presented to the prosecutor’s office.
The following day, May 8, 2025, a probable cause affidavit was filed in Clark County Circuit Court 1, and an arrest warrant for murder was issued for Pixley.
ISP Sellersburg Post detectives and troopers located and arrested Pixley without incident in Scott County during the evening of May 12, 2025. Pixley was subsequently transported to the Clark County Jail, where he is incarcerated.
The Indiana State Police emphasized that this investigation remains ongoing. Detective Busick received assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department and the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office throughout the investigation.
