Indiana Supreme Court warns of malicious emails and texts from hacked state accounts

INDIANA—The Indiana Supreme Court has issued a warning to the public about malicious emails and/or text messages being circulated from compromised Indiana state agency GovDelivery accounts, including the Indiana Courts account.

The Supreme Court emphasized that the state no longer uses GovDelivery to send emails and text messages. The fraudulent messages contain a dangerous hyperlink that should not be clicked.

The Indiana Office of Technology is aware of the issue and is likely investigating the source of the breach.

The Indiana Supreme Court stressed the importance of vigilance against phishing, spoofing, and other forms of electronic crime, which are increasingly common. They directed individuals seeking more information on how to protect themselves to the FBI website, FBI.gov.

Residents receiving suspicious emails or texts claiming to be from Indiana Courts or other state agencies using GovDelivery are urged to delete them immediately and avoid clicking any links within the messages.
