BEDFORD – Nina A. Devillez, 31, of Santa Claus, IN, who was apprehended in Kentucky after allegedly stealing a police cruiser in Warrick County, has been returned to Indiana and will face attempted murder charges in Lawrence County related to a shooting that occurred in November 2024.

Devillez was transferred from the Daviess County Jail in Kentucky to the Lawrence County Jail on Thursday. This development follows her sentencing to a year in jail in Kentucky, which is related to the events following the police chase.
The attempted murder charges in Lawrence County stem from a November 2024 incident where Devillez is accused of shooting Tommie K. Jones, 44, in a secluded area off US 50 West. During her recent arrest, Devillez was out on a $20,000 bond related to this Lawrence County case.
According to reports from the 2024 incident, there were conflicting accounts and 911 calls. Jones claimed Devillez lured him to the location and shot him, while Devillez alleged self-defense following a claimed assault.
On Monday, Devillez was shot by law enforcement officers in Chandler, Indiana, after she allegedly stole a police vehicle. A pursuit ensued, crossing state lines and ending in Daviess County, Kentucky, where Devillez crashed the stolen cruiser.
Kentucky authorities have filed charges against Devillez, including fleeing police, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Devillez will be extradited to Indiana to face these new charges in Warrick County, which will be in addition to the pending attempted murder charges in Lawrence County.
