LOOGOOTEE – The City of Loogootee Water Department has announced a schedule for flushing water mains throughout the city, beginning on Sunday, May 4th, and continuing through Friday, May 9th.
The flushing will be conducted nightly between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
During this essential maintenance process, residents may experience temporary disruptions in their water service, including cloudy water or reduced water pressure. The Water Department advises residents to check the water quality before using it for drinking, cooking, or laundry during these times.
Anyone concerned about their water service during the flushing period is encouraged to contact the City of Loogootee Water Department office at 812-295-2497 during regular business hours. After 4:00 p.m., residents can contact the Loogootee Police Department at 812-295-2246.
The Water Department also reminds drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution when traveling near work crews around fire hydrants. The high-pressure discharge of water during the flushing process can pose a potential hazard.
