Sullivan couple arrested for neglect of a dependent after child hospitalized

SULLIVAN CO. – A Sullivan couple has been arrested and charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury, a Level 5 felony, following an Indiana State Police investigation.

The investigation began in March after authorities received information regarding the alleged neglect of a child that led to the child’s hospitalization.

According to Indiana State Police, the investigation revealed that Destiny R. Williams, 22, and Josiah Q. Horton, 20, both of Sullivan, were allegedly responsible for the neglect. Both are facing a Level 5 felony charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury.

Following a review of the investigation, the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s Office issued arrest warrants for both Williams and Horton. They were apprehended without incident on Wednesday and are currently being held in the Sullivan County Jail with a $15,000 bond each.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper Detective Angie Hahn conducted the investigation, with assistance from the Sullivan County Department of Child Services and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department.

Criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
