MONROE CO. – Two individuals were injured Tuesday evening in a single-vehicle crash on East State Road 45 near the Brown County line.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident in the 9700 block of East State Road 45 at approximately 6:17 p.m.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a 2013 Toyota RAV4 overturned and located about 30 feet off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle had two occupants, Isaiah Warren of Nineveh, and Kimberly Cole of Columbus. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters from the Monroe Fire Protection District worked for over 30 minutes to safely extricate the two occupants from the wreckage. As a result of the emergency response, East State Road 45 was closed to traffic for approximately one and a half hours.
Both Warren and Cole were subsequently transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
