MONTGOMERY – Bedford North Lawrence finished sixth in the 20-team Washington Invitational during boys high school golf action at Country Oaks on Saturday.
The Stars, who had to wade through two weather delays, posted a team total of 323. Castle won the title with 302, followed by Evansville North (312), Jasper (314), Floyd Central (320) and Bloomington South (322) at the top of the leaderboard.
Evan Tillett paced BNL with a solid 73 that included two birdies. Tyler Bellush and Hudson Martin carded 81s.
“We had a really long day,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “I was really proud of the way that we stayed focused and engaged. The course was not playing easy, but I thought the guys struck the ball really well. That’s a good score that we need to continue to build on.”
Castle’s Brayden Lamborne, a Ball State recruit, was the medalist with a two-under 70.
BNL will visit New Albany on Thursday.
