WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) proudly welcomed the winners of Indiana’s 9th District Congressional App Challenge to Capitol Hill last week.
Yinhai Weng and Ayden Daughtery from New Albany High School, Brandon Rogers from Lanesville Jr.-Sr. High School and Wyatt Wisman from Charlestown Senior High School were honored for their innovative app, “Road to Honor.”

All four students attend Prosser Career Education Center, where they’ve been advancing their technology and computer science skills.
The app, designed to promote civic awareness and appreciation for military service, was selected as the winning submission for the district’s annual competition. The students visited Washington, D.C., to showcase their app on Capitol Hill and meet with Congresswoman Houchin.
“These students represent the best of what the next generation has to offer—creativity, purpose, and a commitment to honoring those who’ve served our country,” said Congresswoman Houchin. “I was happy to meet with them, see their passion for innovation, and hear about their future plans.”
The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide initiative encouraging students to explore STEM, coding, and computer science through app development. Each year, Members of Congress host district-wide competitions for middle and high school students.
