ELNORA – Emergency crews conducted a dramatic rescue late Monday morning after two vehicles became stranded in rising water near the intersection of County Road 300 E and State Road 58.

Authorities received a call at approximately 10:54 a.m. reporting the incident. The information indicated that one vehicle occupant was still trapped inside as water began to fill the cabin. The vehicle driver managed to climb onto the top of his Nissan as the water rose to waist level.
The Elnora Volunteer Fire Department and deputies launched a rescue boat around 11:30 a.m. By 11:40 a.m., the driver was successfully pulled into the ship and taken to safety.
Reports indicate that a box truck also went off the roadway during the incident.
All emergency units cleared the scene shortly after noon.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The incident reminds motorists to avoid driving on flooded roadways, especially during periods of high water.
