INDIANAPOLIS — House Republicans today announced details on property tax relief, including business personal property tax reforms. Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders comments:

“Indiana’s business personal property tax has long been an impediment to growth, penalizing investment and placing our employers at a disadvantage compared to those in neighboring states. The reforms announced today represent meaningful progress toward a more modern, competitive tax structure.
“Our analysis with Ernst & Young found that eliminating the tax on new equipment could yield up to $3.1 billion in state GDP growth and create thousands of jobs. This is a smart, forward-looking policy decision that will benefit businesses across the state and support continued investment in Indiana’s economy. We commend legislative leaders for their work to improve the competitiveness of our tax climate.”
