MONROE CO. –The Monroe County Election Board will hold a public hearing on April 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to discuss a draft plan that proposes significant changes to the county’s voting system. The hearing will occur at the Nat U. Hill Courthouse, 100 West Kirkwood in Bloomington.
The proposed plan outlines a transition from the current precinct voting system to a vote center model for administering elections in Monroe County. This change would allow voters to cast their ballots at any vote center location within the county rather than being restricted to their assigned precinct polling place.
