Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson to proclaim April 8 as Ivy Tech Day

BLOOMINGTON—Ivy Tech Foundation will launch Ivy Tech Day at 12:01 a.m. ET on April 8, marking Ivy Tech Community College’s third annual day of giving.

As part of the celebration, City of Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson will officially declare April 8 as Ivy Tech Day in the community and will read the proclamation on the Bloomington campus at 12:45 p.m. Ivy Tech Bloomington will host events throughout the day, inviting students, alumni, employees, partners, and the public to participate.

Campus events:

  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Ivy Tech Day Drinks + Coffee Cart, Yellowwood Cafe
  • 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Taco Tuesday Buffet, Shreve Hall
  • 12:45 p.m. Mayor Kerry Thomson Proclaims Ivy Tech Day, Shreve Hall
  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Paint it Forward by Numbers, Shreve Hall
  • All Day: Make Changes with your Change Donation Bucket, Commons
  • All Day: Program Basket Prize Raffle, Commons
  • All Day: Friendship Bracelet Bar, Commons

This is Ivy Tech’s third annual day of giving aimed at generating resources for the college’s more than 200,000 students statewide, including the more than 11,000 students at the Bloomington campus. Funds raised will directly help students complete their education and launch into successful careers.

Last year, the college’s annual day of giving raised more than $400,000 for Ivy Tech students across Indiana. Ivy Tech Bloomington raised $40,378, or 10% of all funds raised for student support.
