City of Bedford to conduct tornado siren test today at noon following storm concerns

BEDFORD—Officials have announced that the City of Bedford will conduct a tornado siren test at noon today. This test comes after reports that some sirens may not have activated during this morning’s storms.

The city routinely tests its tornado sirens, with the most recent test occurring on Friday, March 24th. Officials confirmed that the sirens were operable during that routine test.

However, following this morning’s severe weather, the city has received reports that some of the sirens did not activate properly. In response to these reports, city officials have decided to conduct an additional test at noon today to ensure the system’s reliability.

“Public safety is our top priority,” said a city official. “We are taking these reports seriously and conducting this additional test to ensure that our warning system is functioning as it should.”

Residents are advised that the siren test will occur at noon today. This is a test only, and no action is required. City officials will investigate the results and work to ensure all sirens are operating correctly.
