MONROE CO. – A man was apprehended Wednesday afternoon after leading law enforcement on a chase through Greene and Daviess counties in a stolen vehicle.
Greene County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to the vehicle traveling from Monroe County on State Road 58 and spotted the suspect near US 231.
The driver then fled into Daviess County on US 231, driving erratically and swerving into oncoming traffic, posing a significant risk to other motorists. Authorities successfully disabled the vehicle using OnStar, bringing the chase to an end.
The driver, who police have not identified at this time, was found to be wanted on an Illinois warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle.
The driver was transported to Monroe County, where he will face additional charges related to the pursuit and the stolen vehicle.
