SELLERSBURG – A southern Indiana man was arrested Tuesday morning by Indiana State Police (ISP) detectives after allegedly posting life-threatening statements directed at billionaire businessman Elon Musk on the social networking platform X (formerly Twitter).
Texas authorities contacted the ISP early Tuesday, alerting them to an X account believed to belong to 28-year-old David Allen June Cherry, who they believed resided in southern Indiana. The authorities reported that Cherry had allegedly posted threats against Musk earlier this month.

ISP detectives initiated an investigation and located Cherry in Clarksville, Indiana. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Sellersburg Post for questioning.
As the investigation continued, ISP detectives obtained a search warrant for Cherry’s residence in Palmyra through the Harrison County Superior Court. The subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of an AR-15-style rifle, a handgun, ammunition, and a ballistic vest.
Cherry is charged with Intimidation, a Level 5 Felony. He was transported to the Harrison County Jail and is being held without bond.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
