BEDFORD – On Tuesday, February 18, Dylan Sipes, 28, of Bedford, was arrested after being found unconscious in his vehicle on Washboard Road.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., police were dispatched to a report of a man passed out in a car partially blocking the roadway at 1445 Washboard Road. Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Christian James found Sipes in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with its front half in the westbound lane and the rear half in the driveway. Fire personnel were already on-site, attempting to assess Sipes, who had difficulty opening the driver’s side door.
After being instructed to exit the vehicle, Sipes appeared disoriented with slurred speech, poor balance, and constricted pupils. He was escorted to an ambulance for further medical evaluation. During the investigation, Captain Fleetwood observed a used syringe in the vehicle’s center console, which contained a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Sipes was read his Miranda rights and agreed to be detained for questioning. Further investigation revealed a baggy containing a white crystal-like substance and a metal spoon with residue, both of which also tested positive for methamphetamine.
Sipes faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in his body.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
