BLOOMINGTON – A Bedford resident has been arrested following an investigation by Indiana State Police into allegations of child molestation.

David Ericksen, 45, was taken into custody on Tuesday, February 4, after detectives executed search warrants at his residence and vehicle.
The investigation began on Monday when ISP Detectives Michael Tummers and Riley Nungester observed a child victim interview at Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Center, alongside Monroe County Sheriff’s Department detectives.
Electronic devices were seized during the investigation and will be examined by the Indiana State Police’s Digital Forensics Unit. Detective Tummers obtained search warrants for the devices and Ericksen’s property.
Ericksen faces multiple charges, including child molestation, a Level 1 felony, sexual battery, a Level 6 felony, and neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 felony. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail following his arrest.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
