Donna Jean Chapman, 71, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Mitchell Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 5, 1953, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Raymond and Marjorie (Gaines) Austin. She married Thomas Oran Chapman on October 24, 1986, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2022.
Donna was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mitchell Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and did home health care. She loved anything outdoors: fishing, camping, and hunting mushrooms. Donna also loved her dogs and always had one by her side.
Surviving are her son, Tony (Dana) Spradlin of Campbellsburg; brothers, Mike Austin of Mitchell and Jack Austin of Mitchell; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, son, Larry Spradlin, and brother, Tommy Austin, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
