BLOOMINGTON — Indiana State Police arrested a 24-year-old Indiana University Jacobs School of Music student on Wednesday, January 15, on charges of possessing child pornography.
Xiaotian ‘Kenny’ Wu faces one count of possession of child pornography, a Level 6 felony, following an investigation that began with a cyber tip in September 2024. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted state police after detecting six videos uploaded to Wu’s Google Drive account in July 2024.

During their investigation, state police discovered additional child sexual abuse material on a flash drive and laptop in Wu’s University East campus apartment. When questioned, Wu admitted to downloading the videos but thought it was legal. He then admitted to having misgivings about the videos.
Wu has been released from jail after posting a $2,000 bond. He waived his initial hearing and is being represented by attorney Joseph Lozano. A pretrial conference is scheduled for March 18 at 1:30 p.m. in Monroe Circuit Court 2.
