Stars finish second at Otter Creek

COLUMBUS – Bedford North Lawrence finished second in the 11-team Columbus East Invitational during girls high school golf action at Otter Creek on Saturday afternoon.

The Stars posted a team total of 347. No.14 Columbus North, with medalist Ava Bunker carded an incredible round of 5-under 67, won the event with 331.

Chloe McFaddin paced BNL with a 78 (finishing second as an individual).

“Chloe played well again today,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “We lost focus a little bit at the end and she took a quadruple bogey on her last hole. But other than that she had a pretty solid round. This course was new to everyone and had a good amount of placement holes. The girls did a good job of playing smart but we definitely let a few get away from us.”

The rest of BNL’s scoring came from Ellie Horton (89), Kenley Craig (89) and Kinleigh Root (91).

“We have a lot of golf ahead of us this coming week,” Johnston said. “So we will get some more rounds under our belt and get those scores down where they should be.”

The Stars will make their home debut on Monday, hosting New Albany at Otis Park.
