Spencer County man arrested after shooting a Kentucky Police Officer

SPENCER CO. – Saturday night, Indiana State Troopers, along with other agencies, were called to the Rockport area in response to a suspect involved in the shooting of an Owensboro Kentucky Police Officer, and subsequent theft of his police vehicle. 

At approximately 10:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, May 14th, officers located the Owensboro Officer’s patrol car near Rockport. Troopers and other officers immediately responded to the area and set up a perimeter.  Officers began an intensive search for the suspect, who had been identified as Bronson Lindsey of Rockport, IN. 

At approximately 5:30 a.m. EST, officers gathered information that the suspect was possibly at a family member’s home on State Road 161.  Officers then went to the residence and set up a perimeter, and spoke to the homeowners, who advised the suspect was in the home. The suspect was located in the residence, taken into custody, and transported to the Spencer County Jail.

Assisting at the scene were: Spencer County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Clause Police Department, Jasper Police Department, Rockport City Police Department, Warrick County Sheriffs Department, Owensboro Police Department, Daviess County Kentucky Sheriff’s Department, and the United States Marshals Task Force Officers.
