MARION – Last night, a criminal investigation by Indiana State Police First Sergeant Detective Bob Burgess resulted in the arrest of Grant County Correctional Officer William Niverson, 30, Gas City, IN.
Niverson was booked into the Grant County Jail to face criminal charges for sexual misconduct and official misconduct. He has since posted bond and was released.
Yesterday, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department requested the Indiana State Police investigate a possible sex act between an adult female inmate and Niverson.
Evidence revealed that yesterday, Niverson and a female inmate purportedly committed a sex act at the Grant County Jail.
Niverson started employment with Grant County in August of 2017.
This is an ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
