BEDFORD – Janie Craig Chenault announces her candidacy for re-election to the Lawrence County Council.
I am a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and married to Larry. We have one daughter, Heidi Chenault Forrest, and a son S. Craig Chenault (deceased).
As a fiscally responsible Republican, I understand that serving on the county council requires good stewardship of your tax dollars. This job not only serves the constituents of Lawrence County, but also requires a good working relationship with fellow council members, and the commissioners. Having served as County Commissioner and on the County Council, I believe I bring a wealth of county government history and knowledge to the job.
Presently I serve on the Community Corrections Advisory Board, the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council, Bedford Public Library Board, Hoosier Hills Supervisory Committee Chair, and in June I retired as Chairman of the St. Vincent Dunn Hospital Board after 21 years serving that board.
I am passionate about my county and county government, and I’m eager to serve the constituents in Lawrence County for another four years. My accessibility and work ethic are things I take very seriously.
