(BEDFORD) – With the impending weather conditions, Bedford North Lawrence Community Schools will use Monday and Tuesday as snow days this week so families can prepare and enjoy their time together.
“This will provide a couple of days of not worrying about virtual learning, wifi connections, and completing student assignments,” said Superintendent Dr. Ty Mungle. “This will also allow our teachers the same, and time to prepare meaningful activities when we resume virtual learning on Wednesday if needed for the remainder of the week.”
NLCS plans to request a waiver from the state that would limit additional days being added at the end of this school year.
“In comparison to other school districts, our in-person student learning opportunities have exceeded that of other districts,” Mungle added. “We are confident that the state will provide a waiver once they review the in-person learning hours we provided so far this school year. We also plan to offer summer school sessions that would provide additional instructional support for students as needed. NLCS continues to be thankful to our teachers, staff, and community for the support they have provided our students.”
At this time, NLCS is calling a SNOW DAY for Monday, Feb. 15 and Tuesday, Feb. 16. Dr. Mungle will update families Tuesday evening should virtual learning days be needed for additional days this week.
