Michael Austin Pritchett, 66, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at his residence.
Born September 30, 1954, in Bloomington, he was the son of Frederick Austin “Bud” and Ruby Violet (Brassine) Pritchett. He married Trena Gaines September 6, 2014.
He retired from General Motors with 45 years of service. Michael enjoyed playing the guitar, woodworking, and the outdoors. He was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ and Stonebelt Stargazers.
Michael was an amazing father, husband, papaw, and friend. He was loved by so many people and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Trena Pritchett of Mitchell; children, Stephanie Renea Pritchett of Oolitic, Jennifer Michelle (Matthew) Grunewald of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Maria Elizabeth (Nathan) Mull of Evansville, Brent Michael (Hannah) Collins of Mitchell; 11 grandchildren; sister, Kiva (Bill) Gratzer of Bedford
His parents and brother, William “Billy” Pritchett, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
