I-70 Project In Hendricks County Will Have Overnight Lane Shifts This Weekend

(HENDRICKS CO.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announce the I-70 project will have overnight lane shifts this weekend. On Friday, November 6, I-70 westbound traffic will be shifted into the newly reconstructed westbound lanes. The contractor will be moving barrier wall overnight in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

On Saturday, November 7,  I-70 eastbound traffic will be affected as the contractor will be re-striping the eastbound lanes.  The new pattern will be in place for the winter. The plan is to open the State Road 267 on ramp to I-70 eastbound Saturday night.

Watch for Milestone to continue working next week on the Ronald Reagan on ramp to I-70 westbound and at S.R. 267 westbound ramps as work wraps up for this construction season.

Milestone Contractors, L.P. was awarded this $43.9 million project that will rebuild the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 from one half of one mile west of S.R. 267 to Ronald Reagan Parkway and patch the interstate from just west of S.R. 267 to S.R. 39. The westbound lanes were rebuilt this year with the eastbound lane construction occurring in 2021. The project is scheduled for completion in early summer of 2022.
