Oolitic Woman Issued Summons After Stealing From Walmart

(BEDFORD) – An Oolitic woman is facing a theft charge after she was stopped by a loss prevention employee at Walmart Saturday afternoon.

Bedford Police officers issued 46-year-old Kelly Westbrook a summons to appear in court on a charge of theft.

According to Chief Terry Moore, the loss prevention employee witnessed Westbrook remove UPCs from discounted children’s clothing and placed them on the selected items in her cart.

“She then proceeded to a register and pay for those items,” said Chief Moore. “She was stopped before leaving the store. Westbrook was trespassed from the store and was cited into court for theft.”
