Bloomington Police Asking for Public’s Help

(BLOOMINGTON) – Bloomington police are investigating a Sunday night shooting incident where multiple bullets were fired. One bullet shattered the back window of a sport-utility vehicle that a woman was driving on Kimble Drive.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477.

According to police, at 9:30 p.m. a 52-year-old female motorist was traveling on Third Street and had turned onto Kimble Drive when she heard what she thought was fireworks. That is when the rear window of her 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee shattered and she realized a bullet had entered her vehicle.

Police found the bullet lodged in the Jeep’s headliner near the sunroof.

Bloomington Police Capt. Ryan Pedigo says the responding officers recovered several 9mm shell casings in the road on Kimble Drive near the Third Street intersection.

Witnesses at the scene told police there was a dark green sedan with large chrome wheels and a white sedan in the area when the incident occurred. Officials say that both vehicles fled before officers arrived.
