(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested on Friday after he was caught on video slapping a woman in the face.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 40-year-old Randy Shields of Bedford on a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor.
According to a Lawrence Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, on Friday a man went to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department to report Shields had hit his daughter in the face and that it was captured on video.
Police obtained a second video that allegedly shows Shields chasing the woman through a house before throwing a plastic chair at her.
Officers went to the home to speak to Shields, and that is when they discovered he was also wanted on a Greene County warrant.
Deputies also spoke to the woman, who claims she was never hit by Sheilds and refused to speak or cooperate with deputies.
Shields was processed at the Lawrence County Jail and then transported to the Greene County jail.
