Delta Chi Fraternity On IU Campus Suspended

(BLOOMINGTON) – A spokesperson for Indiana University says Delta Chi fraternity has been suspended.


IU spokesman Chuck Carney says the fraternity was notified of the suspension Friday.
Officials say the fraternity violated the IU student code of conduct and the Greek Agreement regarding hazing.
Carney says Delta Chi must cease organizational activities and disband as a recognized student organization. The students will have to move out of the house, but it’s not clear when that will need to happen.
There are eight other Greek organizations on IU’s Bloomington campus currently on suspension:

  • Alpha Tau Omega: Suspension effective October 8, 2015 (indefinite suspension)
  • Delta Delta Delta: Suspension by National Headquarters effective March 4, 2017
  • Delta Tau Delta: Suspension effective April 4, 2017 (hazing)
  • Sigma Gamma Rho: Suspension by National Headquarters effective June 2, 2017 (hazing)
  • Sigma Nu: Suspension by National Headquarters effective October 10, 2017 (hazing, alcohol)
  • Tau Kappa Epsilon: Suspension by National Headquarters effective February 8, 2018
  • Delta Sigma Phi: Suspension effective October 2, 2018 (hazing)
  • Kappa Sigma: Suspension by National Headquarters effective December 4, 2018 (hazing, alcohol)
