Rev. Roscoe E. Godsey – Springville

Rev. Roscoe E. Godsey, 91, of Springville, died at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Garden Villa.
Born January 29, 1928, in Wayne Co., KY, he was the son of Gabe and Haley Jane (Phillips) Godsey. He married Opal Martin on October 30, 1948, in Monticello, KY and she survives. He was a minister for 68 years, having pastored churches in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and most recently at Grace Baptist Church in Springville. He was a member of the Burgoon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Opal, of Springville; two sons, Don Godsey, and wife, Brenda, of Bedford and Rick Godsey, of Springville; four daughters, Wanda Carter and husband, Doug, and Janice Robbins and husband, Richard, all of Bedford, Barbara Moore and husband, Tim, of Louisville, KY, and Alice Godsey Golden, of Springville; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Joyce White; seven brothers, Floyd, Arnold, Ansil, Utah, Jessie, Ile, and James Godsey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Harold Godsey and Jim Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
