Edwin “Eddie” Walton – Bedford

Edwin “Eddie” Walton, 41, of Bedford, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Eddie went home to be with Jesus on Sunday August 31, 2014 at IU Health Bedford.
He was born on April 13, 1973 in Washington County to Tommy Shelton and Lena Stannard. He married Crystal Dawn (Craig) Walton on May 19, 1995 and she survives.
Eddie was owner/operator of Ed’s Auto Glass and a member of the Friendly Bible Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing and riding four wheelers with his family.
Survivors include his wife; Crystal Walton, three daughters; Vanessa (Micah) (Morrow) Murphy, Kimberly Walton, and Heather Walton, sister; Jessica Tow, nieces; Selena Thorton, Audrey Thorton, LaKayla Thorton, nephews; Tyler Jenkins, and Elijah Jenkins.
Eddie was a loving husband, father and expected grandfather, waiting on the arrival of two grandchildren in January and February 2015
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother; Sharon Trueblood, grandfather; Claude Stannard, cousin; Lena Rose Stannard, cousin; Shane Stannard
Funeral services will be on Friday September 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Carlton Cemetery in Buddha. Friends may call on Thursday September 4, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home and on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
Mary Ellen Hatfield – Bedford
Mary Ellen Hatfield, 88, of Bedford, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on September 1, 2014, at I. U. Health, Bloomington Hospital.
She was born on July 30, 1926, in Bedford, to the late Henry and Sylvia (Brown) Yeskie. She married Ernie Hatfield on November 23, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She is survived by her companion and friend, Harry Abel and their dog Angel; her son Ernie Hatfield and his wife Brenda, Clinton, IN; her grandson Jason Hatfield and his wife Jennifer and great granddaughter, Kate, of Camby, IN; her extended family Edward and Peggy Dotson of Columbus, OH; Michael and Cindy Condra and their daughter Makenzie of Selvin, IN and Katie Crulo of Avoca, IN; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; first daughter-in-law, Carol Pritchett; grandson Henry Hatfield; brothers Ralph Yeskie and his wife Frankie, Bob Yeskie and his wife Frances, and Dale Yeskie, whose wife Patty survives.
She was a lifelong member of the Oolitic Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10 a. m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be considered to the charity of the donor’s choice or to the Oolitic Baptist Church, in Mary’s memory.

Steven Joe Padgett – Bedford
Steven Joe Padgett, 67, of Bedford, died at 8:40 pm on Monday, September 1, 2014 at his residence.
Born June 2, 1947 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Harold and Geraldine (Haws) Padgett. He retired from NWSC Crane as a pipefitter and was a member of the Leatherwood Christian Church.
Survivors include several cousins and caregivers, Nancy Edwards and husband, Junior, of Bedford, Janice Wheeler, Matthew Crane and wife, Toni, Bryant Crane, Haylie Crane and Tia Wheeler all of Bedford; an uncle, Kenneth Haws and his beloved cat, Euro.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Thursday, September 4th at Leatherwood Christian Church Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled.

Elnora Jeanette Martin – Avoca
Elnora Jeanette Martin, 74, of Avoca passed away at 9:35pm on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospice House.
Born October 7, 1936 in Monroe County she was the daughter of Bee and Lela (Butcher) Prince. She married Bill Martin on June 3, 1955 and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Faith Assembly.
Survivors include: one daughter: Lynn Martin and her companion David Smith; one son: Bradley Martin; three grandchildren: Billy Mills, Jesse Mills, and Danielle Martin; four great grandchildren: B.J. Mills, Zachary Mills, Kaytlyn
Mills, and Issac Mills; one great great granddaughter: Brilyn Mills; one sister: Judy Brain and her husband Joe; one brother: Virgil Prince; two step grand children: Anthony Grubb, and Tanaea Harkness; one step great grandchild: Jayden Grubb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters: Wilma Deckard, Virginia Verble, and Beulah Hearth; five brothers: Danny Prince, Randall Prince, Ernest Prince, James Prince, and Robert Prince.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 6th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter
Mortuary with Rev. Kenneth Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from
4 pm until 8 pm on Friday, September 5th and from 11 am until the hour of service on Saturday.

Bonnie Bray – Bedford
Bonnie Bray, 46, of Bedford, died at 5:56 am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born October 13, 1967 in Kalamazoo, MI, she was the daughter of Walter Ladon and Rosalie Jean (Meek) Hildum. She married Thomas Bray on October 12, 2006 and he survives. She was a homemaker and women’s ministries in Bedford.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas, of Bedford; three sons, Chris Hunter of Missouri, Eric and Jeffrey Hunter both of Greencastle, IN; a daughter, Amanda Hunter of Greencastle, IN; her father, Walter Hildum of Bloomington, IN; four sisters, Connie Lemmons and husband, Robert and Rosie Hildum both of Bedford, Shelly Nisbet and husband, Rick of Bloomington, IN and Donna Jean Hudson and husband, Howard of Shelbyville, IN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, Val Meek and sister, Sherry Hildum Simmons.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, September 5th at New Union Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Dirus Dustin officiating. Burial will follow.

Mary K. Eads (Cat Taylor) – Bedford
Mary K. Eads (Cat Taylor), 68, of Bedford died a 10:39 am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born September 28, 1945 in Nashville, IN, she was the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Jordan) Francis. She married Shelva Taylor on November 15, 1966 and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2012. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Shelby Taylor, Michael Taylor and Kevin Taylor and wife, Melanie, all of Bedford; two daughters, Nina Brock of Bedford and Pauline Hansen and husband, Allen, of Oklahoma City, OK; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence Francis.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm on Thursday, September 4th at Springville Cemetery West with Clarence Brown officiating. No calling hours are scheduled.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
