Lorna June Underwood – Bedford
Lorna June Underwood, 95, of Bedford, died at 11:25 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born February 15, 1919 in Jasonville, IN, she was the daughter of Charles and Nancy Ann (Frazier) Evans. She married Dale R. Underwood on October 10, 1938 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2009. She was a homemaker and member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna K. Ping and husband, Don, of Columbus, IN; three sons, Dale E. “Bud” Underwood and wife, Camille, of Oolitic, Denny Underwood and wife, Melinda, of Indianapolis and Jon Mark Underwood and wife, Barbara of Bloomington; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Byers of Bedford; numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Noah, Morris and Wilbur Evans and two sisters, Alma Ashley and Nova Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, April 7th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Aldred officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, April 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary with a rosary service conducted at 7:30 pm.
