Phyllis A. Andis – Springville

Phyllis A. Andis, 83, of Springville, died at 3:48 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her residence.
Born December 24, 1929 in Springville, she was the daughter of Avery and Iva (Walker) Banks. She married John Andis on December 29, 1945 and he survives. She retired from the assembly line at RCA in Bloomington and was a member of the Springville Trinity Pentecostal Mission Church. She enjoyed puzzle books, quilting and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, John of Springville; three daughters, Bonnie Brassine, Shirley Abel, Sherri Shelton and husband, Max all of Springville; a son, Johnny Andis and wife, Sandy of Trinity Springs; thirteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Banks of Bloomington and Jim Banks of Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harry and Claude (Tub) Banks; two sons-in-law, Gary Brassine and Bill Abel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Wendell Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Byers-Rainbolt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, October 17th and from 9 am until the hour of service on Friday, October at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Springville Trinity Pentecostal Mission Church.

Mark Randal DeVault – Mitchell
Mark Randal DeVault, 55, of Mitchell, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 15, 1958, in Orlando, Florida, he was the son of Harry and Jean (Huffman) DeVault. He married Dixianna J. (Feighner) Griggs May 20, 2006.
Mark was a truck driver for Stone Belt Freight Lines. He was a charter member of University Baptist Church in Orlando and attended Woodville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie DeVault, Mitchell; children, Brittany A. DeVault, Bedford, Samuel D. DeVault, Bedford; mother, Jean DeVault, Orlando, Florida; mother of his children, Jamie (Moore) DeVault, Bedford; stepson, Thomas N. Chapman and wife Shelly, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Brian K. Chapman and wife Tammy, Mitchell, Michael Maze, Bedford; siblings, Reed DeVault and wife Mary Jane, Winter Park, Florida, Sharon and husband Richard Metzger, Arcadia, Florida; several step grandchildren
His father preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 19, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Janet Gayle Terry – Virginia Beach, VA
Janet Gayle Terry, 68, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Born August 19, 1945, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Arnold and Mary Louise (Roberts) Shoopman. She married Joseph W. Terry October 12, 1969.
She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.
Survivor include her husband, Joe Terry, Mitchell; children, Angie and husband David Hignite, Orleans, Jack L. Merry, Mitchell, Chad and wife Jenny Terry, Mitchell; grandchildren, Brandon Dodds, Shaylee Dodds, Jacklyn Merry, Audrey Terry and Addie Terry; great grandchildren, Caden Dodds, Riley Dodds, Syinthia Dodds, and Jasey Merry; sisters, Wilma and husband Jim Fox, Mitchell, Wanita Hopkins, Bedford, Ruthie and husband James Hawk, Orleans; brother, Thomas Austin and wife Vickie Akin, Orleans.
Her father; mother, Mary Louise Akin; and mother in law, Mable Terry, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dan Voorhies officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
