The following obituaries were received for Tuesday –


Norma L. Wade – Shoals
Norma L. Wade, 73, of Shoals, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2:36 pm at Indiana University Health Hospital Bloomington.
Norma was born May 19, 1934 in Martin County to Emerson and Hazel Gertrude (Kidwell) Shipman. On Christmas day of 1952 she married Wayne F. Wade in Odon, Indiana and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1999.
Norma graduated with the Class of 1952 from Shoals High School. She was formerly employed as a secretary to the principal of the Shoals Community School Corporation. She also worked for Tredway’s Market in Shoals and was bookkeeper for Friesenhengst’s Albright Insurance Agency and Bill Dobson Ford. She was a faithful member of the Shoals Christian Church.
She is deeply missed and love by her family, including daughters Tangela L. and husband Vincent Marsh, of Anderson, Stacy and husband Daniel Owens, of Shoals; sons, Daniel Scott and wife Sherry Wade, of Shoals, Kelly W. and wife Michele Wade, of Mitchell; grandchildren, Will OwensMelissa Garrison, Holly Carey, Vincent Marsh, Joshua Wade, Joana Wade, Jenna Wade; great grandchildren, Sydney Owens, Ella Owens, Holly Carey, Vincent Marsh, Joshua Wade, Joana Wade and Jenna Wade; one sister Ruth Ann Roach, of Shoals.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Barbara Pipher and two brothers, James Shipman and Billy Shipman in childhood.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Shoals Christian Church with visitation from 10 am until the hour of service at 11 am at the church with Brother Matthew Sullivan officiating. She will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Wilma L. Wright – Heltonville
Wilma L. Wright, 79, of Heltonville, passed away at 4:15 pm on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born January 14, 1934 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Lloyd and Irena (Murphy) White. She was formerly married to Myron Hudson and Ralph Wright. She retired from NWSC Crane in 1994. She was a life-time member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club. She attended Heltonville Christian Church and Englewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her beloved friend and companion, Doodle Briscoe; a daughter Debbie (Hudson) Butler of Bedford; three sons, Tom Hudson of Heltonville, Alan Wright and wife, Barbara of Huntingburg, DeWayne Wright and wife, Christina of Oolitic; two sisters, Letta Mae Prudy and husband, Don, Brenda McDonald and husband, Gary all of Heltonville; three brothers, Darrell White and Kenny White and wife, Phyllis all of Heltonville, Dale White and wife, Dawn of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Kyle and Corey Hudson, Jason, Justin and Jarrod Butler, Amanda Smith, Adam and James Wright; ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son (in infancy).
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, April 25th at Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville with Bro. Perry East officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Mary Ann Kern Culhan – Bedford
Mary Ann Kern Culhan, 90, of Bedford, passed away at 9:20 am on Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born August 12 1922 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Samuel R. and Dollis Lucille (Watson) Stevens. She married Thomas R. Kern in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She retired as a file clerk for the U.S. Government. She had worked at McDonald’s Jewelry, Smith’s Jewelry and Kern’s Restaurant and Motel. She was an avid euchre player and enjoyed bingo. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion Gillen Post #33 and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Mark Raymond Kern of Bedford; a sister, Patsy Ruth Smith and husband, Lester of Washington, IN; brother-in-law, Wayne Kern of Bedford; three nephews, Steve Robbins Sam and Kent Smith; four nieces, Rebecca Jesse, Cathy Hackney, Donna Lou Tlustek and Dianna Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Martha Jane Robbins.
Visitation will be from 1 pm to 3 pm on Wednesday, April 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Cremation will follow. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, April 27th at Green Hill Cemetery with Elmer Reynolds officiating.

Nancy Sue (Summitt) Phillips – Bedford

Nancy Sue Phillips, 62, of Bedford , passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2013, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center .
Born February 8, 1951 in Bloomington , Indiana , she was the daughter of Terry Bird and Doris Anna (Martin) Summitt Sr. She married Bobby Joe Phillips in June of 1970. He died May 5, 2006. She managed Buddy’s Bait Shop for several years. She was of Pentecostal faith.
Surviving are one son, Jeffrey Phillips of Bedford; five brothers, Jerry B. Summitt, Terry Dale Summitt, Robert M. Summitt, Kenneth R. Summitt and Teddy B. Summitt Jr.; three sisters, Betty Faye Godsey, Robin Lee Wampler and Theresa Christy; companion, John Mathis and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; and sister, Vicki LittleJohn.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Joe Martin officiating. Burial will be in Springville West Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home.
