Corda M. Williams – Mitchell
Corda M. William, 80, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at her residence.
Born June 18, 1931, in Dunns, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Oscar Dempsey and Sadie (Underwood) Cooper.
She retired from Older Americans and was a member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship and a marble collector.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Butler, of Bloomington, Debra Jones, of Bloomington, Lorrayne Burton, of Mitchell and Karen Cassidy, of Mitchell; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Evans, of Concord, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Cooper; and sister, Betty Schafer.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, at the Bride of Christ Fellowship with Bro. Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the church.
Casketbearers: Scott Jones, Scott Burton, Neil Embree, Justin Cassidy, Zachary Burton and Stephen Burton.

Kathryn Ingle Sallee – Bedford
Kathryn Ingle Sallee, 83, of Bedford, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Decatur Township Health and Rehab. Center in Indianapolis.
She was married to Jackie D. Sallee, who preceded her in death. To this union a son was born, Gary Dale Sallee, of Indianapolis and two blessed grandsons, Benjamin and Patrick Sallee, both of Indianapolis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Harold and Richard Ingle and three sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Rowena) Flinn, Mrs. Harold (Lucille) Williams and Mrs. William (Mary Jane) Kirkman and her parents.
Kathryn was Lawrence County’s first female paper carriers, starting in 1939. After graduation from Tunnelton High School, she was employed by Reliance Manufacturing Company for 8 years. She later was employed by Philco for 4 years and then was employed by North Lawrence Community Schools for 8 years. She was employed by Bedford Medical Center where she retired on July 13, 1990, after 20 years of service. She was the Supervisor/Department Head of Central Supply at Bedford Medical Center from 1970 to 1990. She was certified with the International Association of Hospital Central Supply Personnel and a member of the Hospital Christian Fellowship Association. While at BRMC, she was active in the many committees, which include 7 years on the American Red Cross Board. She was at one time Disaster Chairperson for the Lawrence County Red Cross.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford and former member of the White River Baptist Church. While at White River she sang in a Christian quartet for 27 years. Kathryn enjoyed working with the Pastor’s Helpers at the First Baptist Church, visiting the sick and elderly of the church. She was a former member of the Lawrence County Art Association and the Bedford Little Theatre. She and her husband Jackie worked 13 years with the Bedford North Lawrence Booster Club.
A celebration of live will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 30th at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the White River Baptist Church Cemetery in Buddha. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
