The following obituaries were received for Thursday –


John E. Moore – Avoca
John E. Moore, 72, of Avoca, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2:50 p.m. at IU medical Center in Indianapolis. Born December 13, 1939 in Brown County, he was the son of Joseph and Mae (Riebolt) Moore. He married Mary Cooper Shifflett on June 2, 1988 in Louisville, Ky. And she survives.
He was a mechanic and retired school bus driver. He was a graduate of Nashville High School. He was a member of the First Church of Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife Mary, of Avoca; two daughters, Pam and her husband Mike Oldham, of Oolitic, Sherry and her husband Charles Jones, of Gosport; five stepsons, Kenneth Shifflett, Curt Shifflett, of Mitchell, Rocky Carr, of St. Charles, MO., Nick Shifflett, of Fayetteville, Chris Shifflett, of Clarksville, TN., two stepdaughters, Dionne and her husband Larry Vitaliano, of Eminence, MO., Regina and her husband Bruce Kelly, of Bloomington; 31 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; four sisters, Mable Harford, of California, Amanda Leinberger, of California, Grace Rice, of Florida, Fern Headdy, of California; two brothers, Grover Moore, of Nashville, Bill Moore, of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-daughter, Rosanna Reid and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral home, with Rev. Doyle Henderson and Pastor John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens, in Bloomington.
Friends may call from 4p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
