V. William Bailey of Heltonville, known to friends and family as “Bill,” passed away Saturday morning at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 95.
Born in 1912 in Lawrence County to James and Maime Bailey, Bill was self-employed as a farmer, carpenter and timberer, retiring in 1974.
He is survived by his daughters Verla, Marilyn, Marian, Ingrid, Rita and Shana, son Duane, brother Jesse, 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 5 sons, Carl, Roger, Lester, Dennis and Ronnie.
Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00pm at Mundell Church with burial to follow at Mundell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 8:00pm tomorrow at Day & Carter Mortuary and again from 11:00am until time of service at Mundell Church.
