Bloomington Parks and Recreation presents free summer entertainment

BLOOMINGTON – Enjoy live music in Bloomington city parks all summer long. From indie to rock, from folk to funk, and from country to jazz, there’s something for everyone this summer.

From June 1 – June 4, the Monroe County Civic Theater presents Richard III at The Waldron, Hill, and Buskirk Park. Performances on June 1 – June 3 are at 7 p.m., while the June 4 performance is at 2 p.m.

Thursdays feature a performance in Peoples Park from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Come enjoy local acts like Limestone Nomad, Zillafyde, and more.

Happy Hours on the Lawn and the music of SoundR LampN returns to Switchyard Park on Friday, June 9 at 6 p.m. Beer and wine will be available for purchase in the beer garden. ID check required. 

This summer features the first edition of the Switchyard Park Thursday Night Summer Music Series, presented by Bloomington Parks and Recreation and Visit Bloomington. On Thursday, June 15 from 6 – 10 p.m., Makaya McCraven and Funk Almighty take the stage to perform jazz, funk, and more.

Admission is FREE to all concerts.
