Carol Ann Holtsclaw, 75, of Oolitic passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Thursday, May 4th
at 7:45 a.m.

Born November 21, 1947, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Orville “Fish” Oliver and Goldie (Swartz) Oliver.

Carol was a proud, hard-working, certified nursing assistant for more than 30 years at Dunn Memorial
Hospital. She had also worked at some of the long-term care facilities in Bedford as well. She was a
member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club and she enjoyed going there at least every week to sign
up, but especially to see her friends.

She was a member of the VFW Post 9107 and the American Legion Post 250 in Mitchell, Indiana. Carol enjoyed traveling; hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her most-trusted companion Bowser, by having daily naps on the couch and then taking him for a daily ride in her car.

Carol Ann leaves behind a very large family that will miss her dearly, which includes her children – one daughter Michelle (Barry) Cummings of Bedford, and one son James (Charity) Holtsclaw of Orleans. Her grandchildren include, Brandon Holtsclaw (Savannah Simmons) of Oolitic, Jerrica Holtsclaw (Paul
Shaffer) of Jeffersonville, Alycia (Andy) Logsdon of Elizabethtown, KY., Jessie (Zack) Albertson of
Jeffersonville. Great-Granddaughters: Izzy Holtsclaw and Peyton Albertson

She also leaves behind multiple brothers and sisters: Kevin Blackwell of Bedford, Dallas Oliver of
Bedford, Rita (Willard) VanDeventer of Ellettsville, Wilma (Terry) Wikle of Bedford, Brenda (Fred) Rhorer
of Indianapolis, Gary (Judy) Oliver of Texas, Jim (Judy) Oliver of Texas, Bonnie (Eugene) Watson of
Bedford, Clovis (Pat) Oliver of Bloomington, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol Ann lost the love of her life in February of 2022, after being married 56 years when her husband
Jerry Holtsclaw passed away. Also preceding her in death was one grandson, Jordan Holtsclaw and
several brothers: Melvin Oliver, Norman Oliver, John Oliver, and Steve Oliver, along with her parents:
Goldie Blackwell and Orville “Fish” Oliver and step-father, Johnny Blackwell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day
& Carter Mortuary with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Dive Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
